“INTEGRITY”
I’ve heard a lot about integrity over the last little while. What is integrity? When most people are asked they go to the default definition of “doing the right thing even when no one is around or looking”. While this definition is correct it isn’t a complete definition.
The complete or more accurate definition is “remaining steadfast and firm to the Word of God without hypocrisy while others are compromising the gospel for their own personal preferences and benefit”.
You see to just “do the right thing” leaves room for personal interpretation and understanding. Unfortunately in our morally decaying world of today what seems right to one person may not be right to the next. Only God can truly define what’s right and wrong.
When looking for examples of integrity one should look to the hero’s of faith found in the book of Hebrews chapter 11. If you were to look at each of these heroes you would find that at some point each one of them have failed in integrity based on the “do the right thing” definition. The thing these heroes have going for them is that they never compromised the Word of God or their faith in Him! Even while messing up (sinning) they never lost their faith in God.
Don’t succumb to the world’s view and definition of “integrity” where you begin to compromise your faith and relationship with God. Remain firm and steadfast in following the precepts set forth in the Word of God!
Love you all!
